Cleobury Mortimer's West Mids Ladies 2 team started 2005 on a high with a confident three sets to one home win against a young but skillful Tettenhall side.
With player of the match Julie White taking a starring role, Cleobury won the first two sets 25-16 and the final set 25-23 with Tettenhall taking the third 25-22.
Coach Ellie White's girls did her proud with captain Robyn Slingsby diving across the court, keeping her resolution to dive across the court and Tina Bate strong on the net.
There was strong passing from Sarah-Jane Davies and good support from Francesca Hinves.
