BUNNIES galore are expected to pop up at Worcester Woods Countryside Centre this Easter for a special family event in aid of a city hospice.
The Easter Bunny Run will be held on Good Friday, March 25, at the popular centre in Spetchley, Worcester.
Fund-raisers at St Richard's Hospice, in Rose Hill, are hoping for a great turn-out and are offering a choice of routes around the woods designed for all ages and fitness ranges.
There will be a limited number of bunny ears available to buy at the event, and organisers are also encouraging entrants to don rabbit costumes to add to the fun.
St Richard's community fund-raiser Alison Weston, said: "This will be a great way to have fun, whatever your age.
"It doesn't matter how you get round the routes - the idea is for everyone to have a good time and raise funds for the hospice as well.
"Lots of people will be looking for something interesting to do on Good Friday and this is the perfect event for the whole family."
The charity, which cares for people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, is currently campaigning to raise £5.25m to build a new hospice in Wildwood Drive, Spetchley.
The new state-of-the-art hospice will house all the services provided at Rose Hill, as well as 15 specialist beds, the first of their kind in South Worcestershire.
The countryside centre where the bunny event will take place is opposite the site of the planned new hospice.
Potential bunnies can register without charge until Monday, March 21, and will receive a sponsorship form or anyone can pay £2 per person on the day together with any further donations. To register call 01905 763963.
