A SCHOOLGIRL has been excluded from Evesham High after a fire in the girl's toilets.
The pupil, who has not been named, admitted causing the fire in a sanitary bin at 9.45am on Tuesday leaving the toilet severely smoke logged.
David Kelly, head teacher, said: "The fire wasn't started intentionally. It was a result of foolish and irresponsible behaviour. An extensive exclusion has been imposed on the girl."
One fire engine from Evesham and one from Pershore were called out to the incident.
Sub-officer Mel Turbutt said: "The smoke went into some of the classrooms. All the children and staff had been evacuated before we got there and no-one was injured or hurt." The police were treating the case as arson.
