Evesham Utd U-14 1, Banbury Utd 0
UNITED progressed to a Amros Midland Junior Premier League Cup semi-final tie against Gloucester City when they followed up a 7-3 away win with a single goal second leg triumph last Saturday.
Banbury, who started with only nine players, persevered well in the first half as Evesham struggled to put away several chances.
The visitors were at full strength for the start of the second half but the Robins continued to control the game.
Michael Carter was very lively up front, Scott Andrews was always threatening on the wings, while Ryan Cantrill drove Evesham forward from midfield.
The winning goal came from a Banbury attack that broke down and the ball looked to be going to a Banbury defender until Dean Elsmore stretched to play the ball through to Tom Miles who beat the advancing goalkeeper.
