With the first team's scheduled match against Birmingham Barbarians cancelled, it was up to Stourport seconds to fly the flag for the club.
And they did so with an impressive 20-17 victory away at Hereford thirds which moves them up to mid-table in the Merit League.
But in the archetypal game of two halves Stourport were left holding on towards the end after a brave fightback from Hereford.
Stourport's points came courtesy of tries from Matt Bailey, Rob Bush and Steve Griffin who also added a penalty and a conversion.
Next week the seconds host Dudley Kingswinford Wasps seconds at 2.15pm.The firsts return to North Midlands South Two action with an away trip to Dudley Wasps.
The thirds are also away at Dudley Wasps.
