The Christmas meeting comprised a skittles evening at Kingsford Country Park, when Angela Henderson won the competition for the best festive headgear. She sported a plum pudding. Margaret Wilson won the skittles prize.
At the January meeting, forthcoming events were discussed, such as a repeat of the literary lunch, a 90-mile walk challenge in the movement's 90th year, participation in Gardeners' Question Time on the radio and the March council meeting.
Several members volunteered to help with WI promotion day at the Glades Arena, Kidderminster on February 26.
Olive Broadfield and her husband, Norman, gave an illustrated talk on their holiday in Australia and New Zealand.
Daphne Thompson and Pat Bond were joint winners of the "castles" competition.
The next meeting, at St Cecilia's Hall, Hoo Road, Kidderminster, will be on February 8 at 7.3pm, when Neil Churchill will talk about Amnesty International .
The competition will be to design a Valentine's card.
New members will be welcome.
