SMETHWICK RANGERS 1, MALVERN TOWN 1
TOWN snatched an 88th minute equaliser when John Wade headed home in this Banks's Premier Division game on Saturday.
Mid-table Town had been far more enterprising than their lowly opponents and they deserved at least the point although their play lacked real conviction with one eye on the Senior Urn final.
Smethwick opened the scoring through Jaswant Shoker in the 11th minute and almost made it two moments later but Town defender Mick Lowe was on hand to clear off the goal-line.
Town then got on top of the home attack but had to wait for Wade's equaliser.
The previous Wednesday Town went down 2-0 away to title-chasers Causeway.
TOWN play their final League game tomorrow (Saturday) when they entertain Ettingshall at Langland Stadium, (3pm) and then, providing they have defeated Cheltenham Saracens, on Thursday evening play a semi-final Bob Biggart cup tie against Pegasus at Bredon, (6.30pm).
