WORCESTERSHIRE'S head groundsman Roy McLaren is to retire on July 31.
The County's Chief Executive Mark Newton today paid tribute to McLaren's service to the New Road club over the last 18 years.
He said: "Roy has worked tirelessly for the club given the extraordinary circumstances prevailing at New Road.
"Near record floods at the ground last winter created particular difficulties and it is a testament to his ability how quickly the ground has recovered this summer.
"In recognition of his long service, the Club has awarded Roy a Testimonial in 2002."
McLaren said: "I want to thank the club for awarding me a Testimonial. I have made many friends over the years and I look forward to joining them on the other side of the boundary in the years to come."
