MACCLESFIELD manager David Moss has been unhappy with their defending so far with 10 goals conceded in six games.
The Silkmen, who entertain Harriers on Saturday, let a one-goal lead slip at Mansfield last weekend and lost 3-2.
But they have made an unbeaten start at the Moss Rose in Division Three with an impressive 4-1 beating of new boys Yeovil alongside draws with Boston and Torquay.
John Miles, architect of Macclesfield's 2-0 home win over Harriers last season, has now signed permanently from Crewe with fellow forward Colin Little.
They also added Martin Carruthers (Scunthorpe), David Flitcroft (Rochdale), Tommy Widdrington (Hartlepool) and young loan keeper Boaz Myhill (Aston Villa) in an ambitious summer. Carruthers and Miles have both bagged three goals so far.
Mid-table Scunthorpe visit Aggborough on Tuesday following their home game with Swansea on Saturday.
