NEW manager Ian Britton believes his plans for next season will not be severely damaged by Kidderminster Harriers' decision to scrap their reserve side.
Harriers have confirmed that they are not going to run a second-string due to financial and logistical constraints.
Last season they finished third in the Avon Insurance League Second Division.
Britton, however, is determined to make sure Kidderminster's Division Third hopes for next term will not be adversely affected by having no reserve set-up to fall back on.
He said: "We'll play friendly matches instead as and when we need to fill this void. There are a few clubs who will be operation without a reserve side next season, so we won't be the only one. However, we hope to re-introduce the side again at the earliest opportunity.
"It was a difficult decision but we had no choice really. Our squad won't be big enough to support a first and a reserve side next season.
"In an ideal world we would have supplemented the reserves with the better players from our youth sides, but unfortunately they aren't full-time here and they wouldn't have been available to us for the afternoon matches."
