JAN Molby is hoping Kidderminster Harriers can use tomorrow's clash against Nationwide Conference strugglers Northwich Victoria as a springboard for a confidence-boosting run in the FA Cup.
Harriers are favourites to win the first round tie but director of football Molby is warning his players to make sure they steer clear of a potential upset.
The former Liverpool star said: "The FA Cup is for fans and the players. It's for the fans to enjoy their club hopefully getting a run in it and for the players to make a name for themselves.
"There's always that opportunity but, of course, from my point of view it's another home game and a winnable one.
"Hopefully, we can gain some confidence from it if we can win, but of course there will be surprises tomorrow.
"There are a number of non-league clubs left in the cup all hoping to be the ones to get the headlines and Northwich will be no different.
"They are not having the greatest of times, a bit like us, but we are playing at home and I don't think we can ask for any more."
Molby has pin-pointed Northwich's Mark Devlin as a likely threat to Harriers hopes tomorrow. He said: "He's been there for a few years now and he's a neat and tidy midfielder. He's the one their play revolves around.
"But they have found goals difficult to come by so there's every chance it might not be a dramatic high scoring game.
"But as long as we get one more than them then we'll be happy."
Harriers expect to have Scott Stamps back in action following a badly bruised foot sustained against Swansea City last month.
He is set to slot in at left back in place of Steve Burton who is on a month's loan from Hull City who not want him to become cup-tied.
Danish striker Bo Henriksen is also likely to return after being sidelined recently by injury and illness.
Northwich have former Harriers campaigner Hugh McAuley in their ranks but he is ineligible to play tomorrow following his recent move from Burscough.
FORMCAST: Harriers to make progress with a 2-0 win.
