WORCESTER MP Mike Foster handed over his prize car to a new owner - with the proceeds going to two local charities.
Mr Foster won the new Ford Focus in a House of Commons draw organised by Ford Motor Company. He asked Ford to sell the car to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust and Magg's Day Centre.
The top-of-the-range car now has a new owner - Louise Cartledge, whose family live in Worcester.
Miss Cartledge lives in Wimbledon and works as an IT manager.
Her partner, Peter Little, picked up the car on her behalf from the Brooklyn Ford showroom in Bath Road, Worcester.
"Louise had been looking around for a new car and heard about Mike Foster's prize car from her family," said Mr Little.
"I know she is delighted that the money she has paid for the car will be donated to two local charities."
The £13,500 proceeds will be split equally between the charities.
