ONE fund-raiser is Kevin Garford, head chef at Worcester Rugby Club.
Kevin first became involved when he was saw Acorns leaflets at the rugby club, and was persuaded by colleagues to sign up for last year's Great Wall of China walk.
"I'd been doing some training to lose weight and someone suggested doing the walk," said the 42-year-old.
The mammoth trek raised £4,500 for Acorns and gave Kevin a taste for more adventure.
"I've signed up to walk the Inca trail for Acorns, which will be my second overseas event for the charity. I shall fund-raise for Acorns forever now, as long as I'm healthy enough.
"I do it because my family is full of children and we've never had any problems. But we're lucky."
Kevin has even roped in the accountants at the Sixways club to keep a total of the cash he's raised.
"I tell people who want to sponsor me to send the money to the accountants department at the rugby club," he said.
These are some of the events being staged for Acorns.
On Friday, April 5, there'll be a video horse-racing night staged at the Sixways rugby ground.
On Wednesday, June 5, he'll be cooking up a five-course gourmet meal.
And on Friday, May 10, there'll be an amateur boxing tournament.
For more details on any of the events, ring Kevin Garford at the rugby club on 01905 454183.
