A CAMPAIGNER for flood defences in Worcester has visited victims of the freak weather in Carlisle.
Mary Dhonau, chairman of Worcester Action Against Flooding and a former flood victim, was in Carlisle yesterday to pass on advice and information to those affected.
She recommended residents set up a community group - such as in Worcester - to promote flood protection.
"I went round to tell victims how to move forward and one way is to set up an action group," she said.
"Unless people are informed they can't really protect themselves or move on."
More than 2,900 properties were affected and 500 people were evacuated from Carlisle after the floods two weeks ago, in which a month's worth of rain fell in 36 hours.
At least three people were killed in the worst flooding the city has seen for a century.
