TAILS will be wagging in Malvern next month as the town hosts a dog show in aid of the tsunami disaster appeal.
The event takes place in the Avon Hall at the Three Counties Showground on Sunday, February 6.
It will feature a wide variety of canine competitions, from pedigree classes - concluding with best in show - to fun events such as waggiest tail, most appealing eyes and best trick.
The show, which will welcome all dogs, was the idea of dog-enthusiast Linda Cooper from Whitchurch, Herefordshire, after seeing pictures of the disaster on television.
Three Counties Showground has offered the use of Avon Hall free of charge and a whole host of individuals have since offered support, with sponsorship, insurance and prizes to be raffled, all donated by benefactors both locally and nationally.
And Kennel Club chairman Ronnie Irving, together with chief executive Rosemary Smart, will be lending their support by judging the event.
"The Kennel Club is delighted to be involved with this excellent and worthwhile event as part of our fund-raising efforts for the victims of this disaster," said secretary Caroline Kisko.
The entry fee for all classes will be £3 and owners are invited to enter as many classes as possible in order to raise significant funds for the appeal.
Entries will open at 9am at the show, with judging commencing at 10am. Spectators are invited to come and join in the fun - entry is free and donations can be made at the show.
