AT LEAST four Kidderminster Harriers players are up for grabs -- but boss Stuart Watkiss is not about to hound them out of the club.

Watkiss has already told two, believed to be defenders Abdou Sall and Steve Burton, that they would be best finding a new club.

And two others are set to be told their fates next week as the Harriers boss continues to make room for new signings to create more competition for places.

But, especially with Harriers so short on numbers due to the continued injury absence of Iyseden Christie and Reuben Hazell, the players could still get their chance to impress on a matchday.

Watkiss insisted: "What I want to make clear is that these lads won't be ostracized in any way. They're still very much part of the squad and if I think it's right to play them I certainly will.

"I've had a chat with a couple of them already and I have another couple to talk to next week."

But, as the Harriers' manager has admitted in the past, there might not be clubs queueing up to sign contracted players who cannot get into a struggling Coca-Cola League Two outfit.

He admitted: "There might be departures but who knows when? It depends if anybody wants the players because unsurprisingly we haven't had much interest in them."

Giant Senegalese centre-half Sall, 24, was brought back to the club by Jan Molby but his second spell has not been as impressive and Watkiss has only played him three times as cover.

Burton, a 22-year-old left-back signed from Hull City, has been an unused substitute under the new regime and seemed to lose confidence as Harriers struggled earlier in the season.

Meanwhile, Watkiss has admitted Harriers should have five more points which would be enough to sit above third-from-bottom Rushden and Diamonds before today's home game with Oxford United.

The former Hereford player points towards the 2-1 defeat at Leyton Orient and 3-1 home loss to Southend United where late goals ensured Harriers went away with no points.

Last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Macclesfield Town was also down to two costly defensive errors with Harriers failing to make the most of ample possession.

Watkiss added: "It all adds up and I've told the lads that it's now at the stage where playing well in spells and taking positives out of games won't do. We need points."

Aggborough will stage a UEFA U17 European Championship qualifying tie between Northern Ireland and Serbia & Montenegro on March 30 (3pm).
