KEEN hikers in Worcestershire and Herefordshire are being offered the chance to take part in a breathtaking trek to the base camp of the world's highest mountain.
The British Wheelchair Sports Foundation is organising the 11-day event at Mount Everest to help raise money to improve the lives of disabled people.
The trek will take participants through lush valleys, stunning panoramic views and will give them a chance to experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people, their villages and monasteries.
It will be led by an experienced Sherpa guide and people who sign up for it will be asked to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship.
The British Wheelchair Sports Foundation is the national organisation for wheelchair sport in the UK and exists to provide opportunities for children and adults to participate in recreational and competitive sport.
Anyone interested in taking part in the trek should call 01296 395995 or email info@bwsf.org.uk for a registration pack.
