BELMONT Keys produced the performance of the day as several Soccer Site Malvern League teams faced ties in cup competitions.
Keys entertained The Bear FC in the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup, which they accidentally entered instead of the Minor Cup.
They were anticipating a hiding from higher-placed opponents but gave a fine team performance, winning 4-2 with goals from Dave Perera, Anthony Jones and Rob Jones (2).
In the Evesham Hospital Minor Cup, Cross Keys entertained Peopleton. After 10 minutes, Rob Cullen found Jamie Thomas on the edge of the area and he calmly slotted home.
Cullen made it 2-0 in the 15th minute when he beat three defenders before scoring from the edge of the area. Cross Keys suffered a blow in the 25th minute when Steve Brookes handled on the line and was sent off. The visitors reduced the lead from the spot.
However, the 10 men worked well as a unit and made the game safe in the 80th minute, when Lee Phillips scored following a goalmouth scramble.
In the Worcester Infirmary Cup there were mixed fortunes for the Soccer Site teams. Dynamo Ledbury went out of the Junior Cup, losing 2-0 at Nunnery Wood.
In the Minor Cup, the all-division two tie saw Dilligaf United net twice in the last two minutes to complete a comeback from three down at half-time and defeat Fromes Hill 4-3.
Fromes Hill's goals came from Mike Wilesmith and two from Shaun Taylor, with the visitors' goals coming from Karl Lancett, two, and Matt Dance, also with a brace.
Also in this cup, Perowne Park Rangers beat visitors Littleworth 5-2, with a goal from Mike Wakecam and two each for Dan Geisler and Matt Harris.
In the final game in the League Cup Pool D, Morgan Aero 8 beat Keys Victoria 10-0, with goals from Richard Bird, two each for Marcus Eden, Mike Griffin and James Argent and a Conrad Arnold hat-trick.
