A BLUE Audi TT Quattro has been stolen from a home in Northwick Road, Worcester, after thieves broke into the property and stole the car keys.

The incident happened at approximately 3am on Sunday and the offenders also took a £2,000 IBM Think-Pad computer and a £130 Motorola V525 mobile phone from the house.

The thieves are believed to have driven away from the property towards Ombersley Road.

Police have now renewed a warning to motorists not to leave their ignition keys on view, or easily accessible, in their homes following the incident.

"Unfortunately, thieves are ingenious in gaining access to vehicle keys, sometimes by reaching them through the letter-box, sometimes by gaining full entry," said a police spokesman.

"It will, however, always make it more difficult for thieves if keys are not left where they can be seen from outside and are hopefully difficult to locate if entry is gained."

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in or near Northwick Road at around the given time - or knows where the Audi, registration LV03 HHU, is now - is asked to call police on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
