CHRISTOPER Whitehead High School's year nine team steamed through three rounds of the English Schools Football Association's 4 Aces Cup.
The Worcester boys were on the verge of making the competition's fifth round but were edged out 3-2 by Birmingham's Archbishop Grimshaw School.
Lewis Murton and Nathan Baker were on target for the school who beat Aylestone School, Hereford, Evesham High School and Minster College, Leominster, in previous rounds.
As a reward for their progress, they won a free football kit.
In other fourth round matches, both St Augustine's High School and Kingsley College from Redditch progressed.
