ANOTHER member of the Clift clan has joined the family pub, The Talbot of Knightwick, by becoming head barman.

Owners Annie and Wiz Clift have welcomed their nephew Jonathan Clift on board.

"Since losing Richard Scone - barman at the Talbot for 13 years - this key role has been difficult to fill," said Wiz.

"Jonathan completed his degree in June, gaining first class honours in Chemistry. He has turned down a chance of working in the Caribbean to join the family business.

"He will manage the bar areas, and given his degree, should be able to mix a mean cocktail."

The Talbot has been in the Clift family for 20 years and has established itself as one of the most prominent pubs in Worcestershire.

It has gained a reputation for using mainly local produce and recently played host to the 6th Green Hop Beer Festival for the Teme Valley Brewery.

"Jonathan is passionate about beers and drinking," added Wiz

"He will ensure that the quality of the beer is of the highest standard, and being part of the family his heart is in the Talbot."
