POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Redditch shortly after 3.30pm on Saturday, January 15, when two men were arrested.
The incident started in Morton Lane, Walkwood, when police saw a red VW Polo which had been stolen earlier that morning from the Oakenshaw area.
Police followed the stolen car into Windmill Drive, Crabbs Cross, up Yvonne Road and into Evesham Road where the police car was in collision with a white Peugeot 205.
The driver of the Peugeot provided a positive breath test and was arrested.
As police made the arrest, they were approached by a second man who shouted abuse at them. He was then arrested for public order offences.
Sgt Malcolm Blyth said: "As a result of this collision, officers were not able to continue following the stolen car.
"But our inquiries are continuing and we're appealing to anyone who witnessed the original theft of the car from High Trees Close, Oakenshaw, between 9-10.30am on Saturday morning to give us a call.
"At the time of the collision, the Evesham Road area was fairly busy and we're also appealing to any witnesses or anyone with any information on this incident to get in touch."
Anyone with information can call Redditch police on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
