A LATE brace by Bromsgrove Rovers sub Kevin Banner could not stop Studley progressing into the Worcestershire Senior Cup final at the Beehive last night.

Banner came on with 30 minutes left to blast past Studley player-coach Trevor Whittington twice in five minutes but the damage had been done in a 3-2 loss.

Jimmy Mullen's men, riding high in the league above Studley, were out-classed by their Midland Alliance neighbours and found themselves three goals down midway through the second-half.

Bees midfielder Scott Walsh broke the deadlock after good work down the left five minutes after the break and Studley's Kevin Jones made the game safe with a brace of his own soon after.

Jones hammered past Bromsgrove's rookie 'keeper Shaun Hayes, in for the suspended Matt Lowe, on 53 minutes.

And Jones trebled the Bees lead on 73 minutes in almost a carbon copy of his first as Bromsgrove's experimental back three of Karl Johnson, Phil Male and Ross Collins had a match to forget.

Rovers: Hayes, Mahon (Banner), Hillman, K Johnson, Collins (Churchill), Male, M Johnson (Maynard), Benbow, Frost, Daniels, Erraji. Sub not used: Gandy.

Attendance: 140.
