Leamington 4 Barnt Green Spartak 0
BARNT Green suffered a Leamington backlash on Saturday as the Midland Combination Premier Division leaders avenged defeat earlier in the season on Saturday.
Spartak were no match for their Warwickshire rivals.
The game had erupted after Spartak's Anthony Taylor and Josh Blake were sent off for violent conduct.
Until then Barnt Green had matched their in-form opponents, before they grabbed the opener in first half stoppage time.
Two goals in five minutes after the break then made sure Spartak were unable to get back into the game, before Leamington added a late goal.
Manager GJ Singh was philosophical about the defeat.
He said: "That's why they are about 40 points ahead of us.
"Leamington are still the best team in the league by a long way."
Barnt Green will be aiming to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they take on Continental Star (2.45pm kick off).
The manager is wary his side might face a backlash from Star, who were beaten 9-0 by Brocton on Saturday.
Singh said: "I don't know what to expect from Star.
"They normally give us a tough game but that's a terrible result for them.
"But you never know what's going to happen in football and we don't want to lose."
