A SCOTTISH novelist will kick the literary year off with the first event of the Words season on Friday, February 11.
Janice Galloway will give a talk entitled 'What's ordinary and what's extra?' at the literary group's event, which will be held in the conference room at Harris Brush Works, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove, from 8pm.
Janice's first novel - The Trick is to Keep Breathing - is now widely considered to be a Scottish contemporary classic.
Her third novel, Clara, based on the tempestuous life of Clara Wieck Schumann, was a New York Times notable book of the year 2003.
She has also worked for radio, written a play and an opera and has been a writer in residence in Scottish prisons.
Tickets can only be purchased in advance from Val Mason on 01527 871019 or Ottakar's bookstore in Bromsgrove High Street.
