"HERE are the crowds but where are the sales?" (Evening News, Wednesday, January 17).

Take a close look at the photograph and ask the question - why has Worcester become unfriendly to the family and young people?

I cannot see anyone under the age of 20, not a child in a pushchair can be seen. On what day and at what time was this photo taken?

Worcester used to be the place to shop. For 10 years, more money was taken over the counter on a Saturday than any other Midlands town. Not any more.

I bet we will see more people use park-and-ride which would explain why so few carry shopping. Maybe the motorists have got Councillor Bob Peachey's message at last. You are not wanted in Worcester.

M SIMPKINS,

Fernhill Heath.
