THE wife of a 39-year-old Redditch man who suffered serious head injuries in an attack in Birmingham, has spoken of how he and his family had left Zimbabwe to find a "better life" in Britain.
Father-of-two Thandi Sithole underwent intensive medical treatment after being found in a pool of blood in a house he was helping to renovate in Birmingham on January 12.
Police are treating the attack as attempted murder.
Mr Thandi's wife Zenias said: "My family came to this country in 2002 in the hope of a better life.
"My husband Thandi is a hard working family man.
"My children and I have been devastated by what has happened to Thandi.
"I would like to thank the police and in particular, our church for all the help and support they have given my family."
Mr Thandi, his wife and their 14-year-old daughter and nine-year-old son moved to Redditch from Zimbabwe in 2002.
Three men were arrested by West Midlands Police but released without charge.
