Droitwich 1st XI 9 Kingswinford 1st XI 0
DROITWICH men tightened their grip on the West Midlands League Division One by recording their biggest win of the season on Saturday.
In-form Spa bounced back from last week's stalemate with Rugeley to pile more misery on the league's whipping boys at the bottom of the table.
Victory ensured Droitwich hold a five point lead at the top, after closest rivals Whitchurch slipped to a surprise 3-2 loss at home to Rugeley.
Hat-tricks for Barry Williams and Craig Hunt had given Spa the impetus they needed for an emphatic victory.
A brace from Ed Deacon and a strike from Jamie Broughton finished off Kingswinford, despite the red carding of new addition Ian Fox.
Captain Paul Atkinson was delighted with his side's performance.
He said: "We would have been disappointed if we had not racked up a big score. Kingwinsford aren't having the best of seasons.
"Still it was a strong performance where the players all did very well."
