THE January meeting began with president Ann Thurrell welcoming two visitors and wishing everyone a happy new year.
Letters of thanks received from visitors to the December party were read out. A report was given on the county-organised trip to Bath, much enjoyed by all who went.
Members and partners look forward to the annual dinner on January 13. The skittles team will be competing in two matches this month.
Ann presented spoons to three members for 100 per cent attendance during the past year.
Jill Alexander read an amusing poem regarding indulgences over the festive season and promises of future dieting.
Speaker Felicity Rixon gave a demonstration of Thai cooking. At the end, everyone had a generous sampling of rice and a green Thai chicken curry.
The next meeting is at Hopwood Village Hall on February 3 at 7.30pm. New members welcome.
