A binge drinking crackdown during the festive period has been hailed a success by Warwickshire police.
The campaign ran in Alcester and the surrounding South Warwickshire area and was aimed at tackling the knock-on effects of alcohol abuse on violent crime.
Stratford's district commander, Chief Inspector Andy Johnson, said he was particularly pleased revellers appeared to drink sensibly during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He added: "It is encouraging to see this reduction. Making a positive impact on the binge drinking culture needs commitment from many different agencies."
He said he would continue to work with licensees to ensure the downward trend in violence and disorder both in Alcester and Stratford was maintained.
