GARDENING CLUB: The chairman welcomed members to the first meeting of the new year. The Newsletter, giving an outline of the year's events, was available for all members. A silver salver was presented to Peggy Atherton who had gained the most points in the monthly competition in 2004. Members were encouraged to support the club team in the Inter Garden Club Quiz to be held on March 2 at Longborough.
Catherine Jago, the guest speaker, gave a fascinating account of being a private entrant at the Chelsea Flower Show. Catherine's plans and photographs of the gardens were passed round making the amount of work involved even more apparent. Catherine is planning a third Chelsea Garden.
