DESPITE pulling out of the previous day's cross country championships with a back strain, Brian Humphries of Amazing Feet came sixth in the Not The Roman Nine, a 12-km race around Stratford-upon-Avon.
This was the first event in the club's annual Race League, and 16 members took part in the race on Sunday. Humphries completed his run in 44 minutes 25 seconds.

On Saturday men's and ladies' teams were entered in the Worcestershire County Cross Country Championships at Malvern Common, where the ladies finished fourth overall. S Lewis came second female 35, winning a silver medal. The other members were J Pye and Bernadette Byrne.
The men's team comprised C Lewis, Martin Howles, Cutler, D Pye, Pete Wall and Linsday Pulley, the latter finishing fifth overall and winning the county Gold Medal for first Male 65.
In the Extreme Trail Challenge 10k at Lichfield, Shaw Pye came 27th in 52-32 and D Pye 49th in 57-29.
Both were also in action at the Wheaton Aston 10k, where S Pye came 67th in 37-05, D Pye 146th 41-31, Baker 283rd 47-31, Liz Belcher 360th 52-0, Byrne 400th 55-36, completing a shortened 5.9-mile route due to icy conditions.
Richard Haynes came 79th in the Devils Chair Dash, a 5k fell race which he completed in 34-26, while Mike Warren took part in the Stoke Stampede, a 10k race in Somerset, where he came 64th in 43-57.
The ninth ROC Fencing Wyre Forest 8 multi-terrain race is at the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre on February 13 at 11am.
This event has reached its limit and no further entries will be taken now that the 350 maximum has been received. Athletes are advised not to turn up on the day unless they are already entered.
The annual presentation evening will take place on Friday, January 28 at the Aggborough Suite, Kidderminster Harriers FC at 7.30pm.
Sarah Lewis, Jane Pye and Chrissie Smith secured a team result in race three of the Midland Women's League, at Coventry.
Competing in a cross country event in Division Four of the Birmingham and District Invitation League, Brian Humphries was the first club member home.
Seven club members ran the third race of the four-race season on a muddy course at Aldridge, where Humphries came 17th in 39 minutes 46 seconds.
Other results: Shaw Pye came 32nd in 41-16, Martin Howles 62nd in 43-30, David Pye 108th in 48-05, Simon Gregg 119th 49-06, Roger Canavan 143rd 55-05 and captain Lindsay Pulley 157th one hour 1-0.
