Cadbury 2, Littleton 5
LITTLETON moved into the semi-final of the Midland Combination Division One League Cup after a comfortable win over Saturday's second-placed hosts.
While happy with the prospect of winning some silverware, progress means that the Five Acres outfit now has 21 league games and at least three cup matches to fit in to a hectic schedule.
Littleton were quickly into their stride and were two goals up after eight minutes. Simon Brain found Chris Bate whose cross was fired into the net by Paul Jones and the scorer then doubled his side's lead nonchalantly converting a centre from Ben Greenwood whose pace troubled Cadbury all afternoon.
The hosts made repeated atte-mpts to get into the game but Danny Malins, Matt Cotton, Curtis Major and Perry Beddoes held firm at the back restricting them to long-range shots that Adi Pritchard dealt with comfortably.
The visitors increased their lead five minutes into the second half when Greenwood reacted quickest to score from close-range.
Athletic pulled one back on three minutes later when the ball fell kindly for Heeley to beat Pritchard.
Any hopes they had of a comeback were quickly snuffed by a dramatic goal from Jon Gregory who found the net from at least 35 yards.
Cadbury scored again but the scoring was wound up following a good ball from Mark Gledhill that ended with Greenwood was upended and Major firing home the resultant penalty.
Littleton visit Droitwich on Saturday in the semi-final of the Worcestershire Junior Cup.
