THE fate of Droitwich's Lido could be decided next week at a meeting of Wychavon District Council's executive board.
Following deliberations over campaign group SALT's (Save a Lido Today) business plan to reopen the historic open air pool, councillors are expected to decide whether to back the plans or demolish the pool for good.
SALT is proposing to preserve the main open-air saltwater Lido and to install a state-of-the art heating and air dome to cover the pool out of the summer season so it can be used all year.
A new indoor ice-skating rink, using synthetic ice, is also proposed to offer a different leisure facility.
The Lido was closed in 2000 after Wychavon council decided they could no longer afford to keep it running.
