A FUTURE replacement for the toposcope could be made from plastic instead of bronze.
The idea is being considered by Malvern Hills Conservators, who are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the feature on Worcestershire Beacon.
The engraved bronze disc, showing the features visible from the top the hill, was stolen for the second time in September and conservators had to use their stand-by to replace it.
To commission another copy would cost £718.
At a meeting of the board's access and information committee last Thursday, members agreed to explore the cost of a plastic resin copy, which they said could also deter people from stealing it.
