MALVERN Rugby Club's U15 squad will have to put in a strong performance to overcome a useful Stourbridge team and qualify for the quarter-final stage of the North Midlands U15s Cup competition before Easter.
The second-round tie will be played at Stourbridge on February 6 and it will be the third occasion this season that the competition committee has drawn a Malvern youth rugby team to play the national division club.
In the first round of the U16 and U17 cup competitions played in November last year, the Malvern teams found themselves drawn against Stourbridge counterparts.
Both Malvern teams lost, the U17s by 15-12 and the U16s by 17-12. They were entered into the North Midlands Plate competition where their first round opposition will be Luctonians U17s at Spring Lane and Yardley & District U16s at Yardley.
The Plate matches are to be played on a Sunday between February 6 and March 6. The Malvern U17s are favouring February 13 for their tie while the U16s are pushing for March 6 as they are playing Yardley & District U16s in a friendly at Spring Lane this weekend.
