DETERMINED athletes pulled on their trainers and collectively ran 100 miles to raise money for victims of the Asian tsunami disaster.

On Saturday, 100 members of Worcester Athletic Club completed a mile each around the track at Nunnery Wood Sports Complex.

The runners - many under 16 - raised money from friends, family and colleagues at work and school, said the Jim Cowell, the club's team manager.

Worcester Mayor, Coun Allah Ditta, also put in an appearance in a bid to drum up more donations.
