EVESHAM Cricket Club start the countdown to the new season with indoor nets in the Worcestershire Cricket Centre at Prince Henry's High School, Evesham, on Thursday.

There is a players' meeting at 6.30pm before the nets which will run from 7pm until 8pm and continue on Thursdays for ten weeks.

Warm-up matches start on April 23 and the first match in the Birmingham Premier League is on May 7 at home to Redditch.

Newcomers are welcome at Evesham nets and the club is keen to recruit at all levels.

They run three teams on a Saturday, three on a Sunday and four youth teams, plus mid-week cricket.

Junior squad training and coaching starts on Thursday, February 10, from 6pm until 7pm at Prince Henry's High School.
