MOTORISTS parking at Worcestershire beauty spots have been warned by police to be extra careful not to leave valuables in their vehicles.
A spokesman for Worcester police said criminals took advantage of the fact that many people enjoyed the countryside from now until the end of the summer.
Opportunist
"Opportunist thieves are increasingly taking advantage of opportunities to steal from cars, even when items are not left on display," he said.
"We have always urged people not to leave valuables on view and to lock them away for safe keeping.
"Even when this is done, some thieves are not deterred and we have had reports of vehicles being broken into and items taken from car boots and glove-boxes.
"The best, simplest and most effective advice we can give is to never leave any valuables in unattended vehicles."
