WOMEN'S HOCKEY: Redditch Ladies are going through a purple patch after yet another victory this time beating second placed Droitwich 2-1.
The Bromsgrove Road Ladies who have now won their last three on the trot netted a goal in each half to settle the encounter on Saturday.
Swift passing between Jo Stafford, Emma Preston and Lianne Cooper left Emma Manders with an easy tap as Redditch got off to a flyer.
After the break the game's fast and furious pace continued as Cooper almost added to the lead but a resolute Droitwich defence held together.
Redditch finally took a vital two goal advantage midway through the half when captain Stafford skilfully scored with a reverse stick from a narrow angle.
Droitwich scored late on to set up a thrilling finish but Redditch came away with the points.
