AFTER a couple of spells in goal Studley coach Trevor Whittington turned his hand to goal scoring on Saturday and netted a vital last-gasp equaliser against Biddulph Victoria.

James Marrow had given the Beehive visitors a 72-minute lead and with Studley struggling for strikers Whittington was given 15 minutes to get them back in the game.

And with three minutes to go before full time Whittington pulled in the ball from a corner avoided one challenge and placed the ball past the keeper.

Bees manager Kevin Rowlands claimed his side had a bit of a headache after securing a place in the Worcestershire Senior Urn final after a historic 3-2 win over Bromsgrove Rovers in midweek.

He said: "The game was a scrappy affair, neither side really played very well and it was the Biddulph front pair who really shone.

"We kept it down to one goal and really snatched the equaliser but saying that, we maybe could have pinched it at the end however that would have been hard on them."

The Bees were missing captain Mark Neath and influential frontmen Andy Grubb and Jamie Bailey for the game but Rowlands expects at least two back for Saturday's tie away at Causeway.
