ROD Brown has ended any speculation he is about to quit Redditch United for Worcester City.
The Reds manager revealed to the Advertiser that he wanted to remain loyal to the club and fans as United charge for the Nationwide Conference North play-offs.
He said: "I feel like I haven't finished the job at Redditch, the whole club's great, the fans are fantastic and I feel that I've got a loyalty to Redditch United.
"At the end of the day I would regret it.
"We've got a good chance this season. We're trying to build a team at the moment and this club's got great potential but even if we win one trophy this season it'll still be a phenomenal achievement."
Speculation about who would take over the Worcester City job has been rife since John Barton resigned from his post two weeks ago claiming he had "reached the end of his shelf life".
But Reds fans can sleep easy in the knowledge that boss Brown is looking forward to getting his Bromsgrove Road team into the play-offs - with a possible final at Derby County's Pride Park.
Brown added: "We're on the verge of getting to the play-offs in the league and we're also in two semi-finals in cup competitions.
"I still think that we've got one of the best CVs in non-league football and I hope to continue that."
Northern Ireland under 19 international John Harkness from Walsall is top of Brown's targets this week as he hopes to tie up the left sided defender for Saturday's away trip to Gainsborough Trinity.
Redditch's game with Hucknall Town was officially a better spectacle than Birmingham City's tie with Chelsea in the FA Cup round four.
On entertainment value, the Reds received four stars out of five from The Times while the Blues managed just two.
