EXPERIENCED Bromsgrove RFC campaigner Tom Churchill is expected to be fit for Saturday's mid-table clash at Luctonians.
It was feared the rugged player would miss Saturday's game with a broken cheek bone after he was stamped on the head during the draw with Derby last week.
However, the player confirmed to director of coaching Dean Ball that all he had sustained was a bruised cheekbone.
However, Churchill might suffer from some discomfort in the scrums.
Ball said: "Tom's as tough as they come.
"We were worried he might be out for some while, but his cheek is okay.
"There's still a worry that it might be uncomfortable as he is the one who sticks his head between the other players legs in a scrum."
Otherwise Bromsgrove have nearly a full strength squad for the trip to mid-table Luctonians.
Fly-half Matt Birch has recovered from the back injury which plagued him in recent weeks, but Andy Bridge is not fit enough to play.
Ball also called on his team to learn to keep a lead after relinquishing a 17 point advantage in Saturday's draw with Derby.
Bromsgrove have got into habit of throwing away healthy leads this season.
Twice this campaign against Scunthorpe Bromsgrove have been in charge only to lose.
The coach said: "It's not good enough.
"We have to learn how to keep our heads in games.
"I'm not sure if it's complacency or just nerves but it has to stop.
"We still have a chance of finishing in the top three, but if we keep on letting leads slip then we have no chance."
Despite eighth in the table Bromsgrove have a game in hand over Walsall and Luctonians - the two sides above them.
Ball said: "If we could beat Luctonians it would put us in a very strong position.
"We are in a very crucial period, if we could win our next few games then we are right where we want to be."
