Silhillians 46 Droitwich 12

TEN minutes of madness on Saturday ensured that bottom-of-the-table Droitwich slipped further towards relegation.

Spa had been holding Silhillians at home in the first half, but a lapse of concentration mid-way through allowed them to roar into a 20-0 lead.

Director of rugby Julian Bailey blamed the defeat on that crucial period.

He said: "Up until then we had matched

Sils, but we just lost of focus for a small period and were blown away.

"It looked like we might have lost this game by 90 points at that stage, but we fought back."

In the second half Droitwich rallied and two tries for Phil Horton made the final score look a bit more respectable.

Bailey said: "Phil was unstoppable on Saturday, it was his best performance of the season."

Spa will be without key player Gareth Knight, whose come back stalled after he broke down with injury during Saturday's game.

Steve Poke is also a doubt after he injured his ankle at Silhillians.

Matt Jupp and Andy Clarke are available for Saturday's game at home to Pershore.

Bailey said: "We need to have a proper look at Steve as he had to come off on Saturday.

"We were all hoping that Gareth could really lift us, but this injury is a big blow.

"Every time we think we're getting some players back then we lose someone important to us."
