Droitwich Spa 2 Littleton 0
RICHARD Maguire's double dumped Littleton out of the Worcestershire Junior Cup and booked a clash with Bewdley in the final on Saturday.
Maguire struck twice in the first half as Midland Combination Division Two Droitwich knocked out a side from a higher division.
Manager Kevin Blaber was delighted with the result.
He said: "It was a hard game and in the second half it was a backs to the wall job as Littleton really came at us.
"But we were brilliant in the first half.
"Richard's been scoring goals in the last few games."
Droitwich suffered a set back before kick off on Saturday after top scorer Andy Keenahan pulled out of the match with an ankle injury.
But Maguire made up for his strike partner's absence when he drilled a shot into the bottom left hand corner.
The striker then slotted home his own rebounded header minutes later.
While Littleton responded by dominating the second half Droitwich held on for victory.
Blaber is relishing the final against West Midlands League side Bewdley.
He said: "Once again we're up against a side higher than us in the table, but we're not worrying about that."
Ian Cottrill misses Saturday's match away at Division Two leaders Birmingham University (2.45pm kick off).
The manager will be hoping his side can remain focused on winning promotion.
Droitwich have eight games in hand over the leaders.
Blaber said: "The league is our main priority.
"But this game will be a big test for us."
