Bromsgrove Rovers Reserves 2 Rushall Olympic Reserves 3
TEN MAN Rovers were knocked out of the Challenge Trophy quarter-finals by a goal in extra-time.
Rovers were always facing an uphill struggle after striker Thomas was sent off early in the second half.
Maynard came close with a deflected shot early on, but Olympic opened the scoring in the 15th minute after Clements conceded a penalty.
Maynard pulled Rovers level, but a mistake by goalkeeper Yarnold saw them fall behind again.
The game changed when Thomas was red-carded for an incident which left a Rushall defender rolling on the pitch.
Despite the set back McGrath pulled his side level with a clinical finish.
However, Rushall took advantage of Rovers' fatigue in extra-time to snatch the winner.
Bromsgrove will be aiming to avenge their cup defeat on Saturday when they play Rushall away from home (2.45pm kick off).
