WE met for our last meeting of 2004 in the warmth of the Poplars and our excellently supported bring and buy table raised £60 for Upton Warren Church Appeal funds.
We all enjoyed this pleasantly relaxed get-together, exchanging news and views, and taking part in Angela's quiz, which was won by Dot Waldron. We did not have a meeting during December but our members were involved in other parish activities, giving support at the Carols in the Community event in the village hall with the provision of mince pies: similarly at the annual carol concert given by the Droitwich Salvation Army in Wychbold church. And what a memorable concert that was! The dedicated commitment of our Droitwich friends shone through every moment of their presentation, and their singing of the Benediction at the close seemed like a personal blessing on each of us.
So our first meeting of 2005 will be our New Year supper in St Mary de Wyche church. This month's meeting will be held on Thursday, February 24, in The Poplars, Chequers Lane, at 7.30pm. You are guaranteed a warm welcome.
