More than 100 year ten food technology students from South Bromsgrove High School got some top tips from 15 local employers.
The youngsters learnt all about food processing, packaging, promotion, marketing and finance at Monday's event.
Representatives from companies including Banner Foods, at Aston Fields, Bumble Hole Eggs, from Fockbury, Birmingham College of Food and Heart of England Tourism all lent a hand.
The day was designed to highlight the range of career opportunities in the food and drink industry and to give experience of the skills needed for work in this sector.
Technology teacher Denise Gilmour said: "The students responded magnificently to the challenge and it was nice to see them mixing confidently with employers."
