A SQUEEZE of lemon and a sprinkle of sugar was the perfect topping to pancakes made by tots at a Spa school.
Youngsters at Chawson First School, in Wych Road, wished to remind residents of Pancake Day next Tuesday.
Classic pancakes are made from eggs, flour and milk with a pinch of salt and then cooked in butter in a shallow frying pan. Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday is the traditional feast day before the start of Ash Wednesday and the 40 days of Lent - a time for fasting.
It is the last opportunity to use up stores of fats and eggs. Pancakes are the perfect way to use these ingredients.
