THE fine fund-raising efforts of Studley villagers was marked at the weekend when the cash they gathered was handed over to the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital, Birmingham.
The money raised by both Studley Infants School and the village Christmas carol service was handed to George Vale, eight, who will donate it to the hospital where he is receiving treatment for a brain tumour.
In all, more than £300 was donated. The village hall hosted the carol service in early December but youngsters at Studley Infants School were also busy raising cash.
Last year, football-mad George, of Saxon Close, was invited to join the England team as mascot after he was selected from a prize draw.
